Competitor comps — MV Sport vs the S&S Activewear book

Every physical style in the 2027 pricelist, matched to comparable blanks in the S&S Activewear catalog — the same garment class, fabric weight, and cut — with S&S's wholesale (1-piece) and retail prices. Match keys come from MV's own CMS (cms_style_meta fabric/weight bullets) and the A2000 style master; comps are drawn from S&S's 5,716-style book by garment type → weight → fabric → brand tier.

Reading the price position. MV's EQP is its deepest (end-quantity) tier; the S&S 1-piece price is a distributor's standard blank cost. Across matched styles the median is × — near parity overall — but the mix hides two opposite stories. MV's basic tees and accessories run well above commodity blanks (a Classic Tee at $5.75 vs a Gildan/Champion jersey at $3–4), while its heavyweight fleece and outerwear sit at or below premium decoratable blanks (Pro-Weave Hood EQP $19 vs Independent IND4000 at ~$19, Champion/North-tier fleece higher). Even at its floor, MV is competitively-to-richly priced against the blanks a decorator would cross-shop — with a tail of true-specialty pieces (3-in-1 systems jackets, sherpa blankets, ringer tanks) that no blank matches.

Where MV sits vs the comp blanks

Each dot is a pricelist style: its 2027 EQP (vertical) against the median wholesale price of its comps (horizontal), sized by 2025 unit volume, colored by segment. The dashed line is parity. Points above the line are priced above comparable blanks; below, under them. The cloud straddles the line — MV's floor price tracks the blank market closely, sitting below on heavyweight fleece and outerwear (premium comps cost more) and above on basic tees (commodity comps cost less). (Styles above $45 EQP omitted for scale.)

By segment

Median MV floor price vs comp wholesale by segment. Basic tees, accessories and blankets carry the biggest MV premium (MV prices well above the commodity equivalent); heavyweight fleece and outerwear sit at or below premium blanks — that fleece band is the highest-volume core and where the comp pressure is real, so the 2027 hold-list decision (see 2027 pricing) bites hardest there.

Every style and its comps

Method & sources. S&S catalog from the SNS_Activewear_DataLibrary dump (Styles + Products, 200k SKUs → 5,716 priced styles; wholesale = min base-size piecePrice, retail = RetailPrice, weights from S&S oz categories). MV attributes from the pricelist plus MV's CMS (cms_style_meta fabric/weight bullets) and the A2000 master_styles master. Matching is algorithmic: each MV style is classified to a garment sub-type (hood / crew / quarter-zip / tee / polo / pant / outerwear / blanket …), restricted to the corresponding S&S category, then ranked by fabric-weight proximity, fiber match, gender/age alignment, and comp-brand tier (canonical decoratable brands — Gildan, Jerzees, Hanes, Independent, Champion, Comfort Colors, Port & Company — ranked first). The highlighted top row is the closest single comp. Program / bundle SKUs (cap-and-tee combos, custom hoods, pins, laces) carry no clean comp and are omitted. Prices are S&S list wholesale, not MV's cost. Read-only.
